The Temporary Pavement Marking System
The temporary pavement markers that reflect and direct traffic through construction zones are now put down by workers walking down the highway, peeling off the paper cover, bending over to put a marker in place, then stomping on it to make it stick. A similar process is used to remove them. These tasks often takes place while vehicles are passing nearby on the same road. Applying and removing markers manually are slow, labor-intensive jobs. With 23% of annual fatalities and countless injuries involving workers hit by vehicles, these must surely be two of the most dangerous jobs in road construction.
The patent pending TPM System has one machine to apply "L" shaped flexible markers and one to remove them. These two machines, the Marker Applicator TPM 2100 and the Marker Remover TPM 2200, will not only aid in faster and more accurate completion of jobs, but will protect employees on road construction projects.
